Many organizations operate in isolation, disconnected from the people they serve. ECC takes a different path. Our programs emerge from deep listening to the communities we walk alongside-understanding their real needs before designing any response.

We build for lasting change, not quick wins. We partner with local leaders and researchers to learn what actually works. We prioritize sustained support over short-term fixes. Every initiative is shaped by the voices and wisdom of those most affected, ensuring our work reflects genuine community priorities and spiritual depth.

The Rising Scholars Initiative

A college access and persistence program serving first-generation students on their path to higher education. Participants receive comprehensive guidance from enrollment through their college years.

Healthy Neighborhoods Fund

A pooled philanthropic fund backing community-based health partnerships in eight metro regions. We bring local health systems, community clinics, and resident-led organizations to the same table and resource the plan they build together.

CivicSince 2019

Civic Bridge Program

A leadership accelerator for community organizers and neighborhood leaders. Cohorts spend nine months building skills in coalition-building, public budgeting, and policy navigation, then return to their communities with a small project fund.

340 organizers trained across 28 states since 2019

Encounter Christian Center is not a direct service provider. We do not run shelters, operate clinics, or deliver classroom instruction. Every program on this page exists because a community-based nonprofit is doing the actual work on the ground. Our role is to resource them well, stay out of their way, and tell the story of what they achieve.
